- (Torlough (or Thoirdhealbhach) O'Brien became "King of Ireland with opposition" in 1080 after marching into Meath and receiving the submission of Maelseachlain, King of that province - "Memoirs of the OBriens"))In the year 1086, a favourite chief or courtier of Torlough, was killed by another chief. The latter fled and took refuge in Mochulla's monastery. Enraged at this terrible deed Torlough, with his son Teige, who was tanist, pursued him thence and beset the holy place. The monks offered resistance to their action and suffered to the utmost extremity from hunger and thirst, especially the latter. The abbot of the monastery fell into a troubled sleep. He had a dream. There appeared in the vision an old man robed in white, with snowy white hair and luxuriant flowing beard. He told the abbot that there was(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
