- People used walk about three miles for tobacco long ago. There are two kinds of pipes known in this district, the timber pipes and the chalk pipes. Pipes were never made in this district. Pipes were never repaired around this district.
- There was a bonesetter in my district long ago. His name was Dearby Ó'Brien. He lived in Curtiswood. He is dead over fifty years. He often settled peoples' limbs.
