    Downes's field - a man named Downes was arrested there
    Mary Hehar's field - a woman by that name lived there
    Pairc a' Tobair - the field in which St Brendan's blessed well is.

    In the farm of Jack Nugent, Clounagarnane, Cree, Co. Clare:-
    Roughan's field - a man named Roughan lived there
    Túrloch - a field beside a lake which is partly covered by water in Winter-time.

    In the farm of Tom O'Donnell Doughmore, Doonbeg, Co Clare the following names occur:-
    The "Long Meadow" is so called because it is the longest meadow in his farm.

    The "Quarry Field" is so called because there is a big quarry in ta corner of it.
    There is another field called the "Middle Field"
