    The Geese-eggs.
    When the housewife is about to set the geese eggs she burns a stick in the fire and with the burned end she makes the Sign of the Cross on each egg; in order that God may bless the young birds.
    Milking the Cow.
    Before the housewife starts to milk the cow she makes the Sign of the Cross first on herself, and then on the cow's hip. When the cow is milked she dips her finger in the forth of the milk, and again makes the Sign of the Cross - this time on the cow's udder. This is as thanksgiving to God for the cow's milk.
