- There are three forges about this district. The smiths are Mr. North, Mr. Mac. Donald and Mr. Teirney.
Mr. Norths forge is situated beside the road and it is near a cross-roads.
It is a thatched roof which is on the forge. The door is of no special shape. There are two fireplaces in it. The bellows are not made locally.
The smith has a lot of implements, namely:- hammers, rasps, shoeing knives, sledges and many others.
He shoes and asses and makes ploughs, harrows and grubbers.
There is one part of the forge work done in the open air and that is shoeing cart wheels. He does this in a field which has a drain or stream running in it.
Some smiths are very strong.
People usually play cards, draughts and other games in forges.- Bailitheoir
