- When a person dies now, the corpse is laid out on the bed on which he died. The brown Habit, gloves and stockings are put on if the person was a Catholic and if Protestant the corpse is dressed with his best suit of clothes. On the night - following the wake is held, the neighbours gather but not to the same extent as formerly. There is tobacco, but very little intoxicating drink. Indeed in a good many cases there is none. There are no games as formerly and there is no singing. Everything is very quiet and orderly. The rosary is said during the night. On the evening of the second day the people gather to the house, the hearse arrives and the corpse is taken to the Church where it remains until two O'Clock the next day when the burial takes place.
