    Long ago three meals only were eaten by the people in the day. The breakfast was eaten about nine o'clock in the morning. The people used to get up about six o'clock in the morning and go out and work for three hours. Then they came in to their houses and eat their breakfast. They used to have porridge for it. The dinner was eaten about two or three o'clock. Potatoes were the most common dinner. A potato basket was placed in the middle of the floor and the people sat round it. The potatoes were peeled with the fingers. After their dinner they had eaten bread, or potato bread, or pancakes, and some buttermilk. They drank out of noggins not out of cups as they do
