(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)day while he was grazing near the Gub all of a sudden he started away on a mad gallop and went round and round the whole farm and jumped into the river at Pull na sceacóg and was drowned. His cattle also got sick and died without a cure doing them good. At Oldcastle there lived a man called Conor Sheridan and it was the belief of the people that he could tell all the fairies' doings and Micheál went to him and although he never saw Micheál before he at once told him all about the taking away of the child and that he might change his residence as soon as he could that he had the anger of the "Good People" on him for rescuing the child and that the race-horse that was drowned in the river was rode to it by a fairy woman.
