- The wild birds most commonly found in this district are, the thrush, blackbird, robin, magpie, curlew, snipe, sparrow, wren, stone-chat, tom-tit, owl, lark, jackdaw, and the crow. None of these birds emigrate, but the cuckoo and swallow come every summer and after the summer they migrate again. When the swallows are going to migrate they gather together on electricity wires or telegraph wires adn when they are all gathered together they migrate.
The thrush always builds her nest in blackthorns or bushes. The blackbird builds its nest on the top of a ditch in the roots of bushes. The robin builds its nest in an ivy tree or in a hole in a ditch.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
