    A special kind of candle-stick was made also. A piece of a block with a hole in the centre was got. There was a peice of an iron rod placed in it with an opening on top. In the opening was placed the candle.
    Those sort of candles burned for about two hours. This occupation has ceased to exist now.

  2. Starch Making:
    About one hundred and twenty years ago in Ballycumber there stood in Healy's field a famous starch-mill. They used to make the starch from potatoes.
    It was a great industry and it gave employment to many people.
    The track of the mill is to be seen still. It was situated beside the river.
    Noggin Making: Charles Reilly used to make noggins and churns. Noggins are small wooden vessels which they ate porridge in older times. He had it as a trade. He used also make bag-pipes and he used play them
