- Long ago the people ate only two meals a day breakfast and supper. They ate potatoes and oaten bread for each meal. The oaten bread was made with meal and water, it was rolled out very thin and baked on griddles.
For their breakfast they always ate porridge and they thought it was very good food. They never drank tea only at Easter and Christmas and if they had any left over they kept it for the next time.
