  1. Socks and stockings are knit locally by machines. Mrs Mc [?] Firmullagh spins wool into thread. One time my mother got wool from a neighbour who lives beside us and she gave it to that woman to get it spun. After a while when she had it spun my mother knit a jumper and skirt for my sister and she has the skirt of it yet. She has it ten years. It lasts much longer than the worsted one buys in the shop. When my mother had it knit she dyed it red. There are about three spinning machines in the district.
