  1. There are two forts in Cavan Townland, which is near my district of Kilnacarrow.
    These forts are said to have been constructed by the first inhabitants of the country after Noah's flood. They were called by different names, but the most familiar is the Celts. They constructed these forts as a defence against the attacks of others who might want to take their possessions. Sometimes there are strange sounds of music and laughter at night.
    It is generally believed that the spirits of those people who made the forts still remain there. A person told me that very small children were seen at play in the evenings, in the middle of the fort. Horses were heard galloping likewise, but not seen, and many weird noises were heard also.
