Old GraveyardsThere are three graveyards in the parish
There are two of them situated in Granard and the other in Granardcille
They are still in use and they are not round but oblong
The nearest church in ruin is Abbeylara near Granard and they are all sloped to the north
There are tree's growing in them
The oldest tombstone in Granard graveyard is dated 1775
The tombstones are made of stone wood or iron
Some people are buried in the of the ruin of the churchyard
There are no disused graveyards in the parish
Certain families still use certain graveyards though they may be further distant than the parish(continues on next page)
