Short was my stay, long will be my rest
God took me when he thought best.
To grieve for me, alas! tis in vain
We only part to meet in Heaven again.
On another stone is written
"Pray for the soul of Denis Corley who died 13 April 1750, also June Corley who died 5 April 1746."
Over the man's name there is a plate and two loaves of bread to show that he was a baker.
Unbaptised children were buried in unconsecrated ground. A short distance out the Southern Line there is one of these graveyards, it is called a fort.
