Holy Wells:-
Near my home there is a hold well named St Finn's well. It is circular in shape. Near it there is a bush known as Finn's bush. The water of the well is dark in colour. It has a cure for a toothache, by saying the following little prayer
O Saint Finnlock I believe that you have left us in the dark water of this well a cure for my toothache. I also promise to leave a piece of cloth with my initials beside the well.
Only a few people in the district know the prayer and it was with great coaxing that I got it.
The people used to take some of the water with them. There is a track of an old road leading to the side of the well.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
