  1. Up on the hill of Laragh, there was supposed to be a lake long ago, and there were fairies living beside it. The place was swarming with seagulls, and when the friars went to pray there, they were annoyed and distracted by the seagulls. They were constantly praying not to be distracted or disturbed in their prayers. One morning very early they journeyed as usual to the lake to pray, but they were astonished to find no lake there. It was transferred over to Tristernagh, and it is there still, and its name is Lough Iron.
There are ruins near the spot on Laragh, and it is thought, they are the ruins of the fairies' houses.
