The Cuckoo
The cuckoo is a grey bird which is not often seen. He hides on a tree and shouts cuckoo.
It robs other birds nests by breaking the eggs. The mother bird chases him away.
The cuckoo makes no nest but lays her eggs in some other nest. It leaves Ireland about August as the flies get scarce then and it comes again in April as a sign of Spring. I often heard it turnes in to a hawk. It eats flies and when it changes(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
