    About a hundred and twenty year ago there was a hedge schoolmaster known as Mat Gavisk. He used to go around and making arrangements with the parents of the children where he would meet them, he would spend about two hours teaching.
    Nobody knows where he came from but Gavisk family are living in Craddenstown yet.
