- People used to eat three times a day in the olden times. Th meals were called breakfast dinner and supper. They were eaten in the morning, at mid-day, and at night.
The people used to work in the morning for about two hours before having food.
They had stirabout and oaten bread for their breakfast, potatoes for dinner, and oaten stirabout for supper. They drank buttermilk.
They used to sit around a table placed on the middle of the floor and not near the wall. The table was hung up when not in use.
Oaten and wheaten bread were eaten. The former was made with soft water, and oaten meal, and baked on a griddle in front of the fire. Fresh meat was eaten once every year at Christmas.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
