    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    St Dermot is the patron of this parish of Faughalstown. He lived in Faughalstown, on the shores of Lake Derravaragh, where the ruins of his chapel are still standing within the graveyard. It is said that the Saint built this church himself. He was buried in Fore.
    His feastday is not observed as a holiday, neither are there any special prayers said to him. There are only two men at present in the district called after him.
    About three fields south of the graveyard, there is a well called St Dermot's well. Some regard it as a holy well and say that a drink of the water will cure mupmps. The water is used by the families around for all domestic purposes.
