Informant - Mrs S. Bruton, Ringtown, Castlepollard. - In olden times the people ate three meals a day. They were breakfast, dinner and supper. The breakfast was eaten at eight o'clock, the dinner at one o'clock and the supper at seven o'clock. All the people worked before having their (worked) breakfast in the morning. They had stirabout and buttermilk for breakfast. For dinner they had bacon and cabbage, potatoes and oaten bread. For supper they had stirabout also. Potatoes were used for dinner but some(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
