    In this locality it is said: When money is due to a person and when they don't intend to pay you they say: "I will see you at the Chapel on Sunday". In this district it is said: "It is all over like the fair of Fore". It originated in this way: Several years ago there was an annual fair held in the village of Fore, Co. Westmeath. But Fore is very remote from any railway station and so the fair has not been held there during the past hundred years or so. This gave rise to the above expression. We have another local saying, viz, "You are in the middle of the way like the market house in Collinstown". This village which is also in Westmeath, is at a crossroads with the market house in the centre. In the morning if your mother wants you to get up early she says: "A wise head keeps a closed mouth". The following are proverbs which I have
