  1. Candle making.
    Long ago the making of candles was quite different to the way they make them nowadays.
    In Drogheda people used to melt cows fat in a large pot. They had a large mould in the shape of a candle and they would put the wick down in the centre of the mould and then pour the melted fat down on it and then leave it to set. Nowadays they have machinery and electricity for all this kind of work.
