- There was an old woman who could change herself into a hare.
There was a man living in the neighbourhood who owned four cows. He could get no milk from them.
One morning he went out to the field and brought his gun and two greyhounds. He hid behind a big stone and saw a hare sucking the cows. He fired a shot but he missed her. He let loose the hounds after her the hare ran for a house and as she came up to it the window opened and the hare ran in. But before she got in one of the hounds bit her in the leg.
When the man got into the house the old woman was lying in bed dying and covered with blood.
It was the hare who changed herself back into a woman again.
