  1. My Home Townland.
The townland I am living in is Philipstown.
There are six families and about forty people in it.
Conlon is the name most common. There are nine houses in this townland, some of them thatched and some of them slated.
Nobody knows how the townland got it's name.
There are three people over seventy years living but they can't tell stories in either Irish or English. In former times numbers of people used to go to America and other countries as well.
There are no old songs or sayings about the townland.
There are a couple of bogs but the land is good and there is no wood growing in it.
There are no lakes , no streams but the river Glyde flows by it.
Some of the houses are two storied and the others are one storied.
