    For on one occasion, when the village was about to be engulfed by the tide and all hopes were abandoned this woman was seen to emerge from a fort on Mc Cormack's land waving what appeared to be a wand. The enchanted village at this time was plainly visible above the surface of the sea and seemed to be moving inland.
    When she raised her wand it suddenly disappeared.
    Nobody in the vicinity of Lahinch has any anxiety to witness this specatle (spectaile) for as the poem runs
