  1. A long time ago there lived in Kildare two boys. One day they went looking for a birds nest. They came to a river and there was a tree by the side of it. There was a birds nest in the tree. The two boys got up on the tree. The nest was down from them a piece. One fellow said to the other let you go down for the nest and I will hold you. When he was near the nest the other boy said hold your hold till I spit on my fist and he let him off in the river.
