  1. Shops were not so common in this district in olden times. The people did not sell any goods after mass on Sunday. In this district the shopkeeper sells goods after mass. The people used to say that it was a sign of bad luck to sell any kind of goods after mass on Sunday. The shopkeeper would give some poor people goods without money sometimes. It was poor people that always would come there buying, the goods. The shops were not very big, although the shopkeeper used to sell a good deal of goods. The roofs of all the houses were thatched.
