- There is a disused Churchyard at the back of my house up on the hill.
It is situated on a slope facing westward. There is a path leading to it from the road. It is a green patch on the side of the hill with no bushes growing on it. The old people say that hundreds of people that died with hunger, starvation and sickness in the time of the faminine in 1847 are buried there. It goes by the name of "Lagan Abbot". It remains green all year round. The marks of the graves are to be seen there yet. People are afraid to pass by this Churchyard after eleven o'clock at night. This churchyard is very old as the stones are covered with grass and moss now.
