   About six miles from Carrig there is a little place titled "Lismacrory" or the "lis" of the son of Rory. In ancient times the place was prominen as a scene of many crimes. During a certain period when the "priest hunting" was in sway, many priests were massacred under the roof of a massive building but now it is there standing solitary and in ruins. Once when a priest was being hanged, he prophesied that it would be the home of the rooks. Later when another priest was caught saying Mass on the land he was captured.
