    former years. One was situated about two hundred yards from our outhouse and another one in Mr. Dorans beside the present residence. There are not any ruins except a piece of a wall now acting as a fence.
    One family emigrated to America.
    Some of the land is hilly and boggy, and the rest is fit for tillage.
    One stream is dividing Drominoona and Ballyaglish and a lake is to be found in the district.
    Drominoona means Noonans hill because Noonans once lived there.

    My townland is Ballinacourty in the parish of Ballysteen and Barony of Lower Connollo. There are nine families living in the townland - about forty people.
