  1. There are alot of forts in this dis district. There are two in Mr. Rooney's land and there are a few around Burnfort.
    They go by the name of "Lios" there are two in the townland of Slumber Hill and the rest of them are in Burnfort. They are within view of one another and are all round in shape. There is a ditch around them with six or seven trees in the middle.
    Once upon a time there was a boy living with his grandfather because his own father and mother died. When his father was dying he willed him a fiddle. When he got it he practiced every day for two years and in the end he was a great player. He used to go out every night to the fort near his house and he used to listen to the fairies playing.
