  1. On St. Stephen's day all the boys get a bush of holly and tie a wren on to it.
    Then they go around to all the houses looking for money. When they come in to a house they say
    The wren, the wren the king of all birds.
    On St Stephan's day he was caught in the furze.
    From bush to bush from tree to tree.
    At Beenaskehy cross we broke his knee
    Give us a penny or two and leave us be off
    Then they get money and they go away.
