  1. The Old Graveyards
There is only one churchyard in the parish, it is in the townland of Rockchapel. It is still in use. It slopes towards the south. There are trees growing in it The crosses are ornamented. They are made from marble, and some of them cement, and others lime-stone.
The churchyard contains no old tombs, monuments or crosses because it is a new one. There is no ruin of a church in any church. yard nearer than Tullylease. There is several trees growing in the churchyard as everyone decorates their own grave with trees and flowers and some of the trees are grown up.
Some of the local families use grave-. yards much further distant than the parish one. Because there was only two grave yards long ago, one in Brosna in Kerry, and the other in Clonfert near Newmarket and some local people use these yet.
