The following are signs of rain.
1. A mackeral sky. The wind from the south. The swallows fly low. There is a ring around the moon. Stars very close to the moon. Cows sleepy and lying in the fields. The cows "gadding" ie running from warble fly. Soot falling. Smoke falling to ground from chimney. A haziness in the air which shades the sun's light and makes the orb appear whitish or ill defined. The stars get dim.
A rainbow in the morning is the shepherd's warning.
A rainbow at night is the shepherd's delight.The evening red and the morning grey.
