  1. About 30 years ago two men Richard Tobin and Bill Ahern, workmen at Hosford's Phale Court Ballineen Co. Cork were up one night caring a sick horse. At the dead of night they saw a very tall man peering at them over the door.
    Richard Tobin went to the door to find out who it was, and just as he reached the door the figure disappeared through the ground.

    Phale Court was built by Lady Carbery on land from which ten families were evicted in order to make place for her.
