    Kilmeen Parish
    The Castle known as "Baile 'n Bháird". This Castle was built by Randal Óg O Hurley of Ballinacorriga Castle for two of his sons William Hurley and James Hurley. Randall Óg was a very powerful and influential Chief of this district for a long time. His father was known as Randal O Hurley. Randal Óg built Ballinacorriga Castle in 1558. Baile 'n Bháird was built perhaps twenty or thirty years later, therefore I suggest, that we may conclude that it is a late nineteenth century Castle.
    Randal Óg of Ballinacorriga was married to Catherine Cullinane (or Coileáin) a member of a family of physicians in Timoleague who were always employed as doctors to the House of McCarthy. Catherine, we are told, became the mother of seven sons one time and it
