    To take a walk by Rattlings Groves my course I chanced to steer
    The sun had cast its glittering rays the verdant plains around,
    And tis there I spied that Virgin the Pride of Dundalk Town

    With courage bold I did advance unto this charmer fair

    My heart will break all for your sake if you on me will frown
