Potatoes are about the strangest crop grown on the farm as the people must generally plant some old ones in the ground to produce new ones.
They do not grow from seeds like mangolds or turnips or other root crops. They cannot produce seeds although they can produce blossoms. The reason the blossoms cannot produce seeds is because there is not any pollen in the flower or blossoms. They cannot be fertilized to produce seed.
It is the only flower grown that the bees cannot get honey from.
The flower is of a neuter gender.
