- We sow about one acre and a half of potatoes. We sow them both in ridges and in drills. Before you sow them in drills. Before you sow them in drills the ground has to be ready. It is ploughed at first. Then it is tilled. This is done by a harrow and a cultivator. After that the drills are opened. This is done with a plough. There a two kinds of ploughs single board and double board. The double board is used more frequently than the single because it is the quickest method.
