- Daniel Walshe who was a native of Ballyroan and who is working in Scotland composed "A Dream of Ballyroan" He is about 50 yrs. of age. He composed this poem since he went to Scotland. It is sung to the air "Where Beauty Beams on Fields and streams". "Little did I think when a boy

Or the sunny shores of Spain,
To the firing line in Palestine,
A place of peace and joy,
A land once glad is now so sad

The plans they soar while guns they roar
