There is a cave in Dunmore. One time three men named John Byrne Patrick Walsh and Mick Hoban went in. They had three boys outside holding a ball of twine. One of the men would catch the twine and keep it until they would get back to the mouth of the cave again. The mouth of the cave was very contrary and it was very hard to get in. This day the three men went in, they went along until they came to a fountain. At the other side of the fountain they saw a flagged floor, and they imagined they saw a crowd of fairies each sitting on stones, and reading big books.
However they said they would not disturb the fairies, and they turned back, but their comrade Mick Hoban was missing. They looked everywhere but they could not see him.
