(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The most notable man in the Rower about the period of which we are writing was a man named William Shea. He was noted for his bravery and enthusiastic feats as a swordsman He fought and rivalled many men who wished to destroy his title. He fought on a stage in Kilkenny and defeated his rival there.
The men of the Rower grew proud of having such a great hero in their vicinity. His father, at the death of his first wife and William's mother married again. The second wife hated William and in order to get him out of the way for her own children planned a way of getting rid of him Michileen O Hanlaig a low mean and dissipated little dwarf who had dwelt at Shea's from his youth served as an instrument for the murder of William Shea.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
