Ar an leathanach seo

  1. There is an old rath in Donoughmore Johnstown Co. Kilkenny and old people say that treasure is buried there. It consists of gold and silver and beautiful ornaments
It was hidden by Monks because they were attacked by Oliver Cromell's soldiers. Two men named Tynan and Burke made an attempt to dig it up but they failed. Every shovel of clay they took away there were two replaced back. Two weeks after both men were struck with a mortal disease and died in hospital.
The night they died monks were seen kneeling in prayer. Lights were seen the same night in the rath. The light burned all bushes and high grass which were growing around the rath.
