- Long ago people used to have three meals and there were breakfast, dinner and supper. The people used to do some work before their breakfast, and then they had porridge. They took potatoes, bacon and vegetables for their dinner, and porridge for their supper. Milk was drunk. Sometimes the table was hung up against the wall when not in use. Oatmeal and Potato bread were usually eaten. Vegetables were eaten also. People ate food late at night. There were certain kind of food eaten on special occasions, such as Boxty, they ate it at Hallow(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
