- There are very many kinds of birds in our district such as; the wren, robin, chaffinch, blackbird, swallow, magpie, pigeon, cuckoo, goldfinch, corncrake, hawk, thrush, lark, blue-tit, linnet, red-wing, wag-tail and yellow tit. The game birds are: wild-geese, wild-ducks,, snipe, phesant, partridge, grouse, diver, curlew, teal, widgeon. The cuckoo, corncrake, and swallow, emigrates.
The birds in our district build in hedges, trees, house eaves, and a lot of other places.
Birds lay different kinds of eggs. The wren lays a small white egg about 13 in number, the thrush about four or five eggs, the blackbird lays 4 eggs. The cuckoo lays her egg in another bird's nest, but it only lays one egg in each nest. The birds sit about 3 weeks on the eggs.
