  1. An old Irish Tale.
    The following is an old story which I heard about two giants who lived in County Sligo. Goll and Oisin. They both belonged in County Sligo. One day, one of the giants stood at Baisch and that place is near Ballaghadereen and the other stood on Keash hill.
    The two flung stones at each other and the stones fell in a field at a place called Doon, and ever since, it is called, the rock of Doon. The stones are yet there, and they are ten hundred weight each, the giants were then satisfied.
    The following is an other story about Oisin going to Tir-na-Nog. One day Fionn and the Fianna were out hunting. It was a lovely morning and coming towards them in the distance they saw a beautiful maiden riding on a white steed.
    When she came up to them she spoke to them and when they asked her where did she come from she answered, "I come from Tir-na-Nog, and my name is Niamh of the Golden Hair". She said
