    Pat went home the next day and asked the king to show him where to make the grove. The king showed him and Pat drew the stick after him. As he walked along the grove arose. When that was finished, the king said that Pat would have to make a pool on top of the palace with a fish swimming on top of it. Pat went away to the rock with one cake.The little man came, and Pat gave him a bit of the cake and told him what he had to do. The little man gave Pat a stone and told Pat to hit the roof of the palace with the stone and the pool would rise. Pat went home then struck the roof of the palace. When he did this, the pool arose with a fish swimming in it. When that was finished the king said that there was a rock in front of the palace and he told Pat that he would have to take it away. Pat got no cake this
