The mill was built beside the river in Coolaney, there was a race of water going from the river out under the mill and there was a turbine under the mill driven by the force of the water. There were sluices so that the water could be driven to the mill to work the turbine. There was a big shaft going from the turbine up to the top storey of the mill. There were four storeys in it.
